Goodbyes...

Being in the military, goodbyes are always the thing you know will eventually happen so it's not a matter of if, but when it will happen. I think we need to just vow to stop making friends. Ok, so not really, but seriously, this is part of the AF life that is so stinking tough and now that there are kiddos involved, I cry more thinking about them losing their friends and saying goodbye than over my own goodbye. It breaks my heart for my babies to lose friends and at an age when so much is going on for them. Yea, Nichole may only be 5, almost 6, but she is one smart cookie and totally gets what's happening. Well, not really, she doesn't GET it, but she gets that quite a few of her friends have had to up and leave now. Maybe in our next life we'll live in the same place and have kids that grow up with friends for more than 3 years.

This past Wednesday, I thought it would be a good idea with Scott moving to get him out of the house for a bit while the packers were there and surprise Nichole at her school for lunch. She knew I was coming, but she didn't know Scott was coming and she was excited when she realized he was there with me. Unfortunately, Scott wasn't as excited since he was a tad bit overwhelmed by the size of the school and all that was going on. I'm sure Nichole will remember it for a while either way.

Finally last night came the final goodbye. We went to our other friend's house for the afternoon where all the kiddos got to play together. Then after dinner, Eric came and got the girls so they could get home and in bed for school today. Again, seeing the girls have to say goodbye was harder than saying my own goodbye since I can joke my way through the goodbye to avoid the waterworks. Nichole didn't cry but she did wake up this morning immediately asking about Scott and if he had left already. I told her he was still at his house but that he was leaving today. So she said, well I want to go see him before he leaves. Sorry kid but not sure that's a good enough excuse for missing school. It was certainly a tough goodbye for all of us, but in the military we've learned, it's never "Goodbye", it's always "We'll see you later". So Mullin Fam, we'll see you later!

All the Mommies. All I have to say is "Bridge Run 2010!"
We wanted to get one last pose of the 3 of us. Figures we wouldn't be able to get it right :) Like Shari, what's the deal with your hands, they are supposed to be together and who in the world is Ryndee looking at? Ok to her defense, there was another camera trying to get a picture.
We were told to have a "serious" or "we're tough" look. Not sure we'd do so well as a real Charlie's angel :) I love these girls!

Poor Nichole. =( Losing friends is so hard. But can I just say, that her hair in the picture wiht Scott is so stinking cute and curly! I love it. Sorry you are losing another friend. But like you said, it's just saying 'see you later!'. True friends are hard to lose.
