Almost 15 yeas ago, I met a boy who became my boyfriend when I was just 18. He would later become my husband and then the father of my children. Had you told me that 15 years ago, I'd have laughed and said, yea right. Fast forward to today and I couldn't imagine life with anyone else. I love that we make time for each other. I love that even though the youngest complains and says "It's not fair that you get to go see Daddy and we don't", I get to steal away some time with just the two of us and we still love those times together. We try to get a quick weekend getaway in at least once a year besides the date night here and there. A good part of the time, it's been me meeting up with him when he's TDY somewhere but it works. It also works because I have an incredible set of family and friends. Together they all helped me out in taking care of the girls so I could go hang with my hubby for a few days during the week and the whole weekend. Hopefully we'll be able to continue our trend in Korea, but only time will tell. I flew into Phoenix and had some guy walk up behind me and freak me out. Low and behold it was my hubby meeting me inside the airport and welcoming me instead of picking me up curbside. We got to hang out and eat all the grossly unhealthy foods we don't normally eat, watch tv together, run errands together without kids wondering when we can go home or are we done yet. We got to visit with AF friends we haven't seen in years and not worry about how much we'd need to pay the sitter when we got home. And we got to check something off our bucket list, rock climbing. We had never gotten a chance to rock climb and figured Phoenix would be the perfect spot to give it a shot. We made reservations to take a class where we'd get the basics of rock climbing and then do some actual outdoor climbing. Only way we could have enjoyed it more was if the weather had been a little nicer. It hardly ever rains in Phoenix but for some reason that was the time it chose to. It was a tad bit chilly as well but once you got busy climbing and forgot about how cold your hands were, it was great. We can't wait to get the kids in on the fun and find some good climbing areas in Korea. Not sure where our next weekend getaway will be to, but wherever it's at, it will be amazing because it's us getting to continue on in our "story of us" :)
