Happy Birthday Grandma Hornsby

September 4, 1927 a very special lady known as Grandma Hornsby was born. I have to honestly say that I don't know much of her history as a child or growing up simply because when you talked to her, it was never about her, it was always her wanting to know how each person she came in contact with was doing. To this day it breaks my heart that the girls never got a chance to meet this wonderful woman and get to see who made such an impact on me in my life. Nichole was lucky enough to have a Christmas present waiting for her when she wasn't even 2 months old though and it was a blanket Grandma Hornsby had personalized for her and even though she never met her, Nichole loves that blanket and wants it to sleep with every night. Good thing Aunt Kylie found it in New Hampshire and mailed it back to us :) I know I've said this before but every time Nichole asks for her blanket if it's in the other room or something, I remember the line people told me at Grandma's funeral... "One angel has passed but another was born to take her place". Now let's be realistic, Nichole is no angel ;), but I think they have a special connection even though they never met and each time Nichole snuggles with her blanket it reminds me of how Grandma always was there to wrap her arms around us and love us no matter what. So, that being said, Happy Birthday Grandma. We miss you still. I'm sending a smile across the miles and will always continue to count my blessings! Thank you for the influence you had in my life! I love you!
This is one of my all time favorite pictures. It was before digital cameras were big I'm pretty sure :)

If I remember correctly, this was Grandma Hornsby on her 76th birthday, just a few months before she passed away.

Grandma and Grandpa Hornsby WAY back in the day :) SO in love!
I have this picture sitting on my dresser and I love it. She was always smiling and I know she's smiling down on all of us still. And probably sometimes saying "Dear John" :)
